Our family recently had the pleasure of spending a holiday at Club Med la Pointe Aux Canonniers and it was truly one of the best resort experiences we have had. Having visited Club Med twice before in France, we already had high expectations, but our first trip to Club Med Mauritius exceeded them in so many ways. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, relaxed, and completely immersed in the unique atmosphere that makes Club Med such a special destination. The first thing that stood out was the accommodation. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean throughout our stay. Travelling as a family, space and comfort are incredibly important, and Club Med Mauritius delivered on both. The room provided the perfect retreat after busy days spent enjoying the beach, activities, and resort facilities. Housekeeping maintained an exceptional standard every day, and it was always a pleasure returning to a room that felt fresh, tidy, and inviting. The dining experience was another highlight of our stay. The variety available across the restaurants was simply outstanding. Every meal offered an impressive selection of dishes that catered to a wide range of tastes, ensuring that everyone in our family could find something they enjoyed. The freshness and quality of the food were evident in every meal. Whether it was the delicious breakfast spreads, the extensive lunch options, or the beautifully prepared dinners, every dining experience was enjoyable. We particularly appreciated the variety, as it meant we could try something different every day without ever feeling like we were repeating the same meals. The chefs and restaurant staff deserve enormous credit for delivering such consistently high standards. While the facilities and food were exceptional, what truly sets Club Med Mauritius apart is the people. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to ensuring that guests had the best possible holiday. Their warmth and hospitality created an environment where everyone felt welcome from the very start.
The GOs are undoubtedly the heart and soul of the Club Med experience. Their energy, enthusiasm, and dedication made a lasting impression on our family. What we loved most was how visible and approachable they were throughout the resort. They were not simply running activities and disappearing afterwards; they were constantly interacting with guests, checking in to see how everyone was doing, and ensuring people felt included. Whether we were by the pool, on the beach, participating in activities, or attending evening entertainment, there always seemed to be a GO nearby with a smile and a friendly conversation. Their efforts create an atmosphere that is incredibly difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. There is a real sense of community and connection that makes Club Med feel very different from a typical resort holiday. One of the things we appreciated most was the balance between relaxation and activity. There was always something happening for those who wanted to be involved, yet there were also plenty of opportunities to simply unwind and enjoy the tranquil environment. The resort caters extremely well to families, creating an experience where parents and children can enjoy time together while also participating in activities suited to their individual interests. The evening atmosphere was particularly enjoyable. Each night brought a sense of excitement as guests gathered to enjoy entertainment, social events, and performances organised by the GO team. The energy throughout the village was infectious, and it was wonderful to see people of all ages coming together to enjoy themselves. As this was our third Club Med holiday, we have come to appreciate the consistency of the brand. However, Club Med Mauritius brings its own unique character and charm that makes it stand out even among other excellent Club Med destinations. The combination of beautiful surroundings, exceptional staff, outstanding food, and a welcoming atmosphere created a holiday that our family will remember for many years.
If there was one area where we felt there was room for improvement, it would be some of the organised sporting activities. Activities such as the beach soccer tournament and water polo seemed to be primarily focused on adults. While it was fantastic, we felt that the children would also have enjoyed the opportunity to participate. Having separate adult and children's tournaments or organised sessions would create an even more inclusive experience.

We arrived with high expectations and left wishing we could stay longer. Club Med Mauritius delivered everything we hoped for and far more than we expected. Without question, we will return, and we would wholeheartedly recommend this resort to any family looking for a holiday that combines relaxation, adventure, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality. It was an unforgettable experience and one that deserves every one of its five stars.
